transition town imageWelcome to Trawsnewid Llandrindod Transition - the transition group for the community in and around Llandrindod Wells, Powys, facilitating the changes our community must make to meet the challenges of climate change and energy supply.

"what happens when the oil runs out? for all those aspects of life that this community needs in order to sustain itself and thrive, how do we significantly increase resilience (to mitigate the effects of Peak Oil) and drastically reduce carbon emissions (to mitigate the effects of Climate Change)?"

2010-07-17-PowysTransition-thumbTrawsnewid Llandrindod Transition group organised and hosted a very successful development event over the weekend of 17th and 18th July. The two day workshop was led by Transition Bro Ddyfi members Ann Owen and Mandy Dean, who led the participants through an imaginative range of activities and discussions to deepen their understanding of peak oil, climate change, consumerism and the Transition movement.

surveyAre you interested in cutting your energy bills and reducing your carbon footprint, but don't know where to start?  This summer, help is at hand with our new project.

Thanks to funding from Environment Wales' Climate Change Next Steps Fund, the Llandrindod transition group will be working with Household Energy Services (HES) of Bishop's Castle to conduct a number of detailed household carbon footprint surveys.

Proposal 1

To add variety to a local diet through the production of high protein and high carbohydrate vegetables, especially pulses, grains and tubers that are not normally grown in this area or are not part of our traditions. Of particular interest are varieties that could be stored or dried for winter use.
