we are very pleased to announce that our  programme this evening will include a talk and discussion with local food security researcher,  RICHARD PITTS from Presteigne Transition. This will give us an exclusive first preview of some original local research into the resilience of the food supply to  two local communities, as well as an opportunity to contribute to this research.

Food Preservation Event, Saturday 17th September, 10am – 12 noon, Llanidloes Community Centre

“Lacto-fermentation”

  • an ancient method of preserving for contemporary health and deliciousness!
  • Layer your vegetables with the vitality of herbs and spices.  Experiment for healing and culinary surprise.
  • Come to this unusual preserving workshop with £4, your favourite seasonal vegetable, any old spice or herb, and some small jars.
  • We are going to taste some delicious treats , and then brainstorm our fancies to create some more to bring home.
  • This is preserving beyond bottling and chutneys— it’s Local and Seasonal singing with zing.

A small charge of £4 per person will apply to cover costs.

On Wednesday, September 28th the Herb Garden Cafe, Llandrindod Wells, will be hosting a charity 'Not in My Cuppa' tea party from 3.00pm to 5.00pm  to raise funds for the World Society for the Protection of Animals (WSPA) campaign to oppose the factory farming of dairy cows.
