Grants for homeowners and private renters in Powys

Insulation Grant - £300

  • Loft insulation;
  • Cavity wall insulation;
  • Thermostatic radiator valves;
  • Radiator panels;
  • Draught proofing;
  • Hot water tank jackets;
  • Boiler controls.

Boiler Grant - £500

  • Replacing a 'D' rated boiler, electric system, solid fuel system to a condensing boiler - to be fitted by a gas safe (CORGI)  or OFTEC-registered installer;
  • Installing a wood stove - installer needs to be HETAS approved.

Solar Panel Grant, wood fuelled boiler system - £1,000

  • Installer has to be 'Low Carbon Buildings' registered - there is an additional £400 grant for solar panels and £1,500 for wood boiler systems from 'Low Carbon Buildings'.

Solid Wall Insulation Grant - £1,000

  • Grant for external or internal wall insulation.

Householders can access either the insulation or boiler grant - not sure yet if they can apply for both, but can apply for the solar grant separately.

This scheme is organised by the West Wales Eco Centre for Powys County Council - there is a waiting list, so people need to phone us on 0800 954 0657 to be put onto the waiting list, or for further details.
